At the June 13 General Membership Meeting, Nitin Shrivastava was enthusiastically welcomed as the new secretary of the board. It was also agreed to increase membership fees from season 2025/2026, investing in the future of our club. Because of this change, the cancellation date was postponed to July 13, 2025. In addition, on Friday, June 20, the youth committee organized a fun and creative Family Tournament full of crazy obstacles and crazy game forms. The prize for the most delicious homemade snack went to Geetha Dinakaran - her creations were so popular that they were the first to run out!
BOARD STRENGTHENS WITH SECRETARY
At the Annual General Meeting on June 13, Nitin Shrivastava joined the board in the position of secretary and was warmly welcomed by the members present. The club wishes him every success.
NEW DUES RATES SEASON 2025/2026
At the General Membership Meeting, the treasurer explained that with the proposed dues increase, she intends to absorb the expected loss for 2024-2025. With the new dues rates, the club remains financially sound and can continue to invest in a strong future.
Effective with the 2025-2026 season, the new dues rates are:
Youth
- Membership: 270 Euros per year
- Competition Fee*: 108 Euros per year
- Association Union Fee: 20.10 Euros per year
Adults
- Membership: 324 Euros per year
- Competition Fee 4th Division and above*: 205.20 Euros per year
- Competition Fee 5th Division and below*: 162 Euros per year
- Union Fee: 20.10 per year
*) Competition contribution applies when you have indicated that you play competition and you are registered for a competition.
LAST DATE TO CANCEL MEMBERSHIP
Do you already know that you will not play badminton after the summer vacations, due to study/move, or other (sporting) choices? Don't forget to cancel your membership by July 13 at the latest! This can be done by sending an email to penningmeester@vanzijderveld.nl.
If you do not cancel before July 13, your membership will automatically be extended for another year until May 31, 2026. You must then pay dues for the entire 2025/2026 season.
The board has suspended the 2025 cancellation date once from June 1 to July 13 due to the General Membership Meeting's decision on June 13 to increase membership fees.
REVIEW OF SUCCESSFUL FAMILY TOURNAMENT
Last Friday, June 20, the youth committee organized a very successful Family Tournament. It was no ordinary tournament, but one with ‘obstacles’: e.g. playing with your ‘wrong’ hand, with balloons attached to your racket, playing over a very high net, sharing your racket with your partner, even with 2 nets on 1 court (?!?!)... And of course everyone was allowed to bring something tasty, preferably homemade snacks, with a prize to be won. This prize was won by Geetha Dinakaran. Her snacks were very tasty and the first to be finished!
HAPPY SUMMER HOLIDAYS
For badminton club Van Zijderveld the summer vacation is in sight. On Friday, July 11 is the last evening of play. After the summer vacations the first week will start again on Monday, August 25.
