The 2022/2023 season is almost over. Please mark the dates of the last evening of play and the first day of play of the new season in your calendar. The players in the 1st to 4th division of the national league will start training in the 2nd week of August. The participants in the youth training will receive an email about their playing times in the new season. We also announce that our club will play in a new club outfit next season. Finally, the board invites everyone who likes badminton club Van Zijderveld to participate in our American picnic / BBQ on Sunday, July 9.
SUMMER BREAK AT VAN ZIJDERVELD
Summer vacation is coming up. Friday, July 7 is the last day before summer vacation that training and play can take place. For the association, the new badminton season starts on Monday, September 4, 2023.
For players in the 1st through 4th divisions of the federal league, training will start on Monday, August 14 and on Thursday, August 17.
YOUTH COMPETITION AND TRAINING
Last season the number of youth players increased significantly. Many young players want to play competition, so there are 10 youth teams. It will not be possible to train all competition players at the same time, so they will be divided over 3 training times. We aim to have as many complete teams as possible at 1 training. This means that some youth players will have to change training times. We will announce this by email.
NEW CLUBWEAR
Starting with the new badminton season, the club will switch to new shirts. What the new club shirt will look like we will reveal in September, but count on it being a unique shirt in the Netherlands. From September the shirt will go on sale for a price of about € 32,00. The new tracksuit will also have a unique Van Zijderveld design and will cost approximately € 80.00.
We expect the players of the teams in the youth and association competition to play their matches in the new club shirt. The shorts, skirts and training pants will be black (no other color).
We also ask parents to ensure that children wear indoor sports shoes appropriate for badminton. Our intention is to have several brands and sizes of badminton shoes available in De Meerkamp sports hall at the start of the season at highly competitive prices.
INVITATION PICNIC / BBQ - AMSTERDAM FOREST
To bring the badminton season 22/23 to a pleasant close, the board invites all members, family and friends to an American picnic/BBQ on Sunday, July 9 beginning at 1:00 p.m. The club will hold the picnic/BBQ right next to the Great Pond parking lot on De Duizendmeterweg. Everyone bring some drinks and food to share together. The board will have a BBQ ready to share at 1:00 pm.
Then I hope to see you at the picnic on July 9, 2023 in the Amsterdamse Bos. If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, then I wish you a happy summer vacation and look forward to seeing you again at training at our club from Monday, September 4, 2023.
